As you get older, you gradually lose your innocence. The once things that you hold dear; the strong friendships that are said to last through thick and thin; the dreams and ambitions that you dream of in the future just seemed to get a little distorted and complicated. Then politics start to come in, with backstabbing and people slandering behind your back, with devious crimes and each for his own agendas, with manipulation, ostracizing, competition and a constant struggle to be heard. Life suddenly seems so negative and ugly. And in the midst of such trying times, you are forced to grow up as a teenager and then as a young adult, in search of your identity, in need of wanting to belong. Your heart begin to grow cold towards your duty in society as a person, towards your friends, towards people and sometimes even towards God. Stepping out on your own, try as you might, you use your own strength and might. You become self-correcting. Become more cautious and weary towards things. Become more cynical.
But fortunately for us as Christians, it is so comforting to know that we have a God who loves us. For who we are, for what we have done, and gives us hope to be who we are called to be. We don’t have to try so hard to prove ourselves, to give in to the social pressures of this world, but seemly walk in the path he carved out for each one of us. :)
In the midst of the storm
Through the wind and the waves
You’re still be faithful
You’ll still be faithful
When the stars refuse to shine
And time is no more
You’ll still be faithfulYou’ll still be faithful Lord

Welcome
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity,
but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
2 Timothy 1:7
